Join the Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve
Get outdoors and make a difference by helping the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy remove invasive grasses to enable rare coastal sage scrub habitat to thrive as a home of local native plants and wildlife. Help them maintain and care for the White Point gardens by planting native shrubs, watering, or laying down mulch and more! Your efforts will help restore this habitat for wildlife as well as create a beautiful outdoor space for the community to enjoy! All volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign and complete their release before they can volunteer. Volunteers under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. Provide Breakfast to PATH
PATH provides meals to their residents in interim housing. When groups sign up to provide meals, it helps PATH focus its resources on providing housing and support services for their residents. Their male veterans in West LA love to have home-cooked meals from volunteers. Shifts are currently available at their West LA site. They understand not everyone is comfortable with on-site volunteering. If you want to support the male veterans, ask them about sponsoring a meal through a meal delivery service or catering! Volunteers Wanted for Gay Men’s Chorus Gala – June 25
Volunteers wanted for event set up; check in; greeting; silent auction set up, silent auction monitoring and silent auction check out; event strike. Some volunteers will also be needed for auction set up on Saturday afternoon, June 24. All volunteers will get a ticket to attend the Saturday, June 24 evening performance of Disney Pride in Concert. North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry distributes more than 1,300+ bags of food monthly as the number of people coming to the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry has significantly increased. They encourage you, your friends, your schools and your networks to help them end hunger in the area. We'd love to have you join us for our newly restarted weekly Accessible Wednesday morning program, AW@10! These special events are held from 10:00am – 11:30am each Wednesday where we do fun activities to help local nonprofits. And what’s extra special about these Wednesday events? Our guests of honor are wonderful and fun volunteers with some developmental challenges who want to give back and help others, in groups and as individuals. The accessible activities we'll do on Wednesdays are specifically designed with these guests in mind, so that everyone can participate and have fun volunteering - because we believe very strongly that absolutely everyone has something to give. Pack Kits with Lucky Duck Foundation
The Lucky Duck Food and Water Initiative has distributed over 1.4 million meals to San Diego’s unsheltered neighbors since May 2020. Volunteers help pack, sort, and load food and water for homeless outreach teams to distribute throughout San Diego County. Volunteers also sort and distribute items like face shields, masks, hygiene kits, EMPWR Coats, and clothing. Volunteers are critical to making the program happen, so please consider signing up! Volunteer bagging shifts take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00-3:00pm at the San Diego Rescue Mission Warehouse (212 East 26th Street, National City, CA 91950). Note: though it is most helpful if you can volunteer for 3 hours, you do not need to sign up for all 3 hours, you can volunteer in 1-hour increments. Distribute Care Packages at MCRD San Diego with Operation Gratitude
Join Operation Gratitude in San Diego every Thursday to distribute Care Packages to newest Marines to thank them as they begin their Military service. These Care Packages will offer a small reminder to service members that Americans across the nation support them and appreciate their service and sacrifice. Interested individuals should sign up in advance to participate. Volunteers ages 13 and up are welcome. This is an outdoor event that will take place during all weather conditions. We’ve Got Your Back – Fresh Produce Distribution
This is a great volunteer opportunity that occurs every Friday for individuals and groups wanting to be hands-on with helping the community and team collaboration. Each week, their We've Got Your Back families are able to receive fresh food and essential items to support their families through our drive-thru distribution. You will help to facilitate a food distribution event for approximately 200 to 250 families. This includes preparing stations and helping to distribute 50 to 80 pounds of fresh food into the cars of families in the We've Got Your Back program. Their staff will provide instructions before the event begins on what will be giving out to their families that attend, as well as the amount per station. Staff will always be there to help and answer any questions/concerns you may have. Please be sure to sign up at least 48 hours before a scheduled shift! Transport Food for the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry
The Transportation Team transports the loaded grocery bags from the packing site at Temple Beth Hillel to the food distribution site at First Christian Church. The entire process of transporting 150 to 200 pre-packed bags takes about one hour. Bags are transported in Pantry owned vehicles.
