Join The Assistance League of Los Angeles for a Family Day of Service

For nearly 100 years, Assistance League of Los Angeles has worked to improve the lives of underserved, foster and homeless children in our community. The League's Family Day of Service will be a unique opportunity for local families to give back to children in need. For this event they will be collecting a variety of scholastic goodies for children that include crayons, rulers, colored paper, spiral notebooks, pencils, erasers, wide-ruled notebook paper, colored pencils, glue sticks, index cards, educational workbooks and gift cards. On the day of the event, attendees will sort and pack all the supplies, make special handmade cards and enjoy light refreshment and entertainment. They are in need of microwavable dinners that can be stored at room temperature. (No Frozen Foods) For example, Cup of Noodles, Hormel Dinners, etc. Parent Food Pantry! This allows the parents to have a decent meal, without leaving their child's beside too long. They are in need of microwavable dinners that can be stored at room temperature and individual chips. Team Up with The Salvation Army Glendale’s Food Pantry to Help Serve Hundreds of Individuals and Families

The Salvation Army Glendale's Food Pantry program serves hundreds of individuals and families every month. They have recently transitioned into a 'marketplace' system, which gives their clients the independence to choose their own food options. In order to serve their community, they need volunteers to help maintain the pantry by spending a couple of hours each week performing one (or more) of the following tasks: 1. Sort incoming food donations by type. 2. Place sorted foods in the designated area. 3. Help restock the marketplace floor as needed. 4. Assist/interact with clients. They have opportunities available Monday through Friday. This is a great opportunity to serve the community! Help The Salvation Army Burbank Corps Prepare Food Boxes

The Salvation Army Burbank Corps offers food boxes to individuals and families providing 3-5 days' worth of food. Volunteers are needed to provide a cheerful and helpful attitude to those requesting help. Consistent long term volunteers are desired; however one time volunteers are welcome also! Available shifts: Monday - Friday 10am-1pm: help serve our guests Monday - Friday 2pm-5pm: help get the food bank ready for the next day. Other duties would include help with sorting of canned food donations, stocking shelves, keeping warehouse organized, and other various needs as they arise. This is a 18+ opportunity. Contact Lt. Kidsave is looking for awesome on-site volunteers to help with a variety of day-of tasks. This will be for their 20th Anniversary Miracles Gala at Avalon Hollywood + Bardot. They will be having a dinner, live and silent auction, and dancing. Volunteer opportunities available are: -Event Set-Up (arrival 2:00PM) -- help with setting up the tables, floral decorations, and auction item displays. This shift would be for 3-4 hours. -Event Registration (arrival 4:30PM) -- help with checking in guests using on-line mobile bidding software (BidPal) and making sure guests are greeted with a smile and bid paddle ;) -Greeters and Table Seaters (arrival 5:00PM) -- help with flow by making sure guests know where they are seated and are able to properly find their seat; be a smiling face as they arrive -Auction Check-Out (arrival 7:00PM) -- help get auction items set-up for check-out in Bardot; help with getting all items to guests (this will be a part for those who are interested in staying for dancing!!)
