Help Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California fill their Parent Food Pantry that is located inside the Loma Linda Children's Hospital Hematology/Oncology Unit. They are in need of microwavable dinners that can be stored at room temperature. (No Frozen Foods) For example, Cup of Noodles, Hormel Dinners, etc. Parent Food Pantry! Help them fill their Parent Food Pantry that is located inside the Loma Linda Children's Hospital Hematology/Oncology Unit. This allows the parents to have a decent meal, without leaving their child's beside too long. They are in need of microwavable dinners that can be stored at room temperature and individual chips. (No Frozen Foods, please) For example, Cup of Noodles, Hormel Dinners, etc.

Team Up with The Salvation Army Glendale’s Food Pantry to Help Serve Hundreds of Individuals and Families

The Salvation Army Glendale's Food Pantry program serves hundreds of individuals and families every month. They have recently transitioned into a 'marketplace' system, which gives their clients the independence to choose their own food options. In order to serve their community, they need volunteers to help maintain the pantry by spending a couple of hours each week performing one (or more) of the following tasks: 1. Sort incoming food donations by type. 2. Place sorted foods in the designated area. 3. Help restock the marketplace floor as needed. 4. Assist/interact with clients. They have opportunities available Monday through Friday. This is a great opportunity to serve the community! Help The Salvation Army Burbank Corps Prepare Food Boxes

The Salvation Army Burbank Corps offers food boxes to individuals and families providing 3-5 days' worth of food. Volunteers are needed to provide a cheerful and helpful attitude to those requesting help. Consistent long term volunteers are desired; however one time volunteers are welcome also! Available shifts: Monday - Friday 10am-1pm: help serve our guests Monday - Friday 2pm-5pm: help get the food bank ready for the next day. Other duties would include help with sorting of canned food donations, stocking shelves, keeping warehouse organized, and other various needs as they arise. This is a 18+ opportunity. Contact Lt. Assist Kidsave at their 20th Anniversary Miracles Gala

Kidsave is looking for awesome on-site volunteers to help with a variety of day-of tasks. This will be for their 20th Anniversary Miracles Gala at Avalon Hollywood + Bardot. They will be having a dinner, live and silent auction, and dancing. Volunteer opportunities available are: -Event Set-Up (arrival 2:00PM) -- help with setting up the tables, floral decorations, and auction item displays. This shift would be for 3-4 hours. -Event Registration (arrival 4:30PM) -- help with checking in guests using on-line mobile bidding software (BidPal) and making sure guests are greeted with a smile and bid paddle ;) -Greeters and Table Seaters (arrival 5:00PM) -- help with flow by making sure guests know where they are seated and are able to properly find their seat; be a smiling face as they arrive -Auction Check-Out (arrival 7:00PM) -- help get auction items set-up for check-out in Bardot; help with getting all items to guests (this will be a part for those who are interested in staying for dancing!!) Assist the L.A. First Church of the Nazarene’s Food Pantry with Bread Pick Up

The Helping Hands Food Pantry is in need for one or two volunteers to pick up bread from a nearby Vons. Volunteers would go to the church to pick up boxes for the bread and keys to open up the pantry. Using their own cars, volunteers would then drive to a local Vons (loading dock) and would receive the bread, load it onto their cars. When they arrive at the church, they can use carts to wheel in the bread to put inside the pantry's freezer for safe keeping. Volunteers would then lock up, put the pantry keys away and then continue about their day. The bread that volunteers will pick up will help to feed families in Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre throughout that week. Requirements & Commitment: Driver's License Needed. Must be at least 18. Orientation or Training 1hr and 30min. Drivers must also have proof of insurance and will fill out a volunteer application and waivers.

Join Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservatory for their Outdoor Volunteer Day

Please join Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy for their Outdoor Volunteer Day from 9am to 12pm at Alta Vicente Reserve! Volunteers will be working to remove invasive weeds which degrade important wildlife habitat and will be replacing them with native, drought tolerant plants! Please meet at the Alta Vicente trailhead next to St Paul's Lutheran Church at 31290 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Please do not park in the church parking lot. Park on the street. Extra parking can be found in Golden Cove Shopping Center. Volunteers will be working outdoors, so please wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection and be sure to bring drinking water and a snack. A reusable water bottle is recommended. Join A Place Called Home for their Health and Garden Expo

This convention will provide access to basic preventive services and screenings; an opportunity to enroll in low-cost or free health care coverage; and it will also encourage participants to make positive changes to their lifestyle and behavior in order to improve their health. The resource portion of this fair is targeted to increase awareness of the opportunities, services and programs offers to the community. LLS are in need of volunteers at their Los Angeles Man & Woman of the Year Grand Finale Gala on Saturday, June 9th at The Globe Theatre at Universal Studios Hollywood. On the 9th, nearly 550 guests will gather to honor the 20 Candidates who have spent 10 weeks competing for the title of Man/Woman of the Year by fundraising on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Lend a Hand Running Activities at Olive Crest’s Family Health Awareness Fair

Family Health Awareness Fair: Saturday June 9th, 2018 from 12pm-3pm. Open to everyone. Members of community will come to allow children to participate in different activities while also getting resources from different Mental Health, Fitness and Nutritional agencies. Free food will be served and raffle prizes will be happening. The event takes place at Olive Crest 17800 Woodruff Ave Bellflower, CA 90706. Volunteers are needed to help run activities. These activities are kid friendly. This includes football, soccer, archery, boxing, coloring, basketball and baseball. They also need help running the raffle area, serving food and registration. All volunteers show up at 10am to help set up.

Carthay Environmental Studies Needs Your Help Beautifying Their New Habitat Garden.

Carthay Environmental Studies school would love your help planting and weeding their beautiful, new habitat garden. This new California Native garden has taken root where a large lawn once lived in front of the school, and needs some TLC as it gets established. Please join them for some good garden time and a nice lunch. Master Gardeners will be on hand to guide and instruct and the Carthay hens are on hand to cluck! Workdays are always fun at Carthay!

They have been running very low these past couple weeks and would really appreciate the support of the community in bringing more in!
