Jewish Family Service Los Angeles (JFSLA) SOVA Valley provides a 5 day supply of free groceries and personal care items (when needed) to families and individuals facing food insecurity in addition to providing information and referrals to other community services. They currently serve 120 clients a day at this site. What You'll be Doing: Greeting clients, packing food bags, restocking and giving out food to clients. Provide Breakfast to PATH
PATH provides meals to their residents in interim housing. When groups sign up to provide meals, it helps PATH focus its resources on providing housing and support services for their residents. Their male veterans in West LA love to have home-cooked meals from volunteers. Shifts are currently available at their West LA site. They understand not everyone is comfortable with on-site volunteering. If you want to support the male veterans, ask them about sponsoring a meal through a meal delivery service or catering! Donate Food for Food Bags at North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry
North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry distributes more than 1,300+ bags of food monthly as the number of people coming to the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry has significantly increased. They encourage you, your friends, your schools and your networks to help them end hunger in the area. Transport Food for the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry
The Transportation Team transports the loaded grocery bags from the packing site at Temple Beth Hillel to the food distribution site at First Christian Church. The entire process of transporting 150 to 200 pre-packed bags takes about one hour. Bags are transported in Pantry owned vehicles. We'd love to have you join us for our newly restarted weekly Accessible Wednesday morning program, AW@10! These special events are held from 10:00am – 11:30am each Wednesday where we do fun activities to help local nonprofits. And what’s extra special about these Wednesday events? Our guests of honor are wonderful and fun volunteers with some developmental challenges who want to give back and help others, in groups and as individuals. Distribute Food with LA Food Bank
The Food Bank provides food to families and individuals through their Mobile Food Pantry (MFP) program, which distributes food off of our trucks at various locations throughout LA County. MFP distributions have transitioned to a “Drive-Through” format (and walk-up where feasible) to reduce personal interaction per Public Health guidelines. We'll be feeding approximately 1,000 families at this event. Distribute Food in Watts with LA Food Bank
The Food Bank provides food to families and individuals through their Mobile Food Pantry (MFP) program, which distributes food off of our trucks at various locations throughout LA County. Volunteer Responsibilities: Volunteers are needed to distribute food to families and individuals in need of food assistance. This will involve collecting information from individuals, bagging food, distribution food, and helping with traffic control to ensure the distribution runs smoothly. Pack Kits with Lucky Duck Foundation
The Lucky Duck Food and Water Initiative has distributed over 1.4 million meals to San Diego’s unsheltered neighbors since May 2020. Volunteers help pack, sort, and load food and water for homeless outreach teams to distribute throughout San Diego County. Volunteers also sort and distribute items like face shields, masks, hygiene kits, EMPWR Coats, and clothing. Volunteers are critical to making the program happen, so please consider signing up! Volunteer bagging shifts take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00-3:00pm at the San Diego Rescue Mission Warehouse (212 East 26th Street, National City, CA 91950). Note: though it is most helpful if you can volunteer for 3 hours, you do not need to sign up for all 3 hours, you can volunteer in 1-hour increments.
