Join The Assistance League of Los Angeles for a Family Day of Service

For nearly 100 years, Assistance League of Los Angeles has worked to improve the lives of underserved, foster and homeless children in our community. The League's Family Day of Service will be a unique opportunity for local families to give back to children in need. For this event they will be collecting a variety of scholastic goodies for children that include crayons, rulers, colored paper, spiral notebooks, pencils, erasers, wide-ruled notebook paper, colored pencils, glue sticks, index cards, educational workbooks and gift cards. On the day of the event, attendees will sort and pack all the supplies, make special handmade cards and enjoy light refreshment and entertainment. Support Veterans at The Salvation Army’s 2nd Annual National Donut Day Eating Championship

Help support Veterans and see history being made at The Salvation Army's 2nd Annual National Donut Day Eating Championship in front of the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Watch the best competitive eaters in the country vie to break the world record. Cheer on KRTH's own Gary Bryan and others in the local preliminary donut eating contest. And support The Salvation Army and its programs dedicated to helping Veterans throughout the Southland. They need volunteers to assist with unloading and loading stage equipment, stage setup, and clean-up. There will be some heavy lifting involved, so keep that in mind. This is a fun event and volunteers will receive a T-shirt. Donate Much-Needed Art Supplies for Kids at Free Arts

Free Arts uses art to restore hope, resiliency, and self-esteem in children in Los Angeles ages 5-18 who have experienced abuse, neglect, poverty and homelessness. They serve more than 22,000 children in Los Angeles each year via nearly 200 adult volunteer mentors. Become a Summer Camp Junior Counselor for the Children’s Lifesaving Founation

CAMP4ALL SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM would love for you or your high school teen to volunteer as “Junior” Counselors with the CLF this summer at a surf and/or overnight camp! This program will serve hundreds of low-income, at-risk and homeless youth and families coming from over a dozen different agencies. Interact with the Seniors at The Salvation Army and Lead Various Actiivities

The Salvation Army's Silvercrest in Lake View Terrace, CA is looking for volunteers leaders who like interacting with seniors and can lead various activities such as arts and crafts or group excercise. And if you don't have a craft or activity, thats ok! Why not come by to lead a game of bingo? Let them know what you want to do and they are open to discussing your ideas! They are also in need of volunteers who can be translators or teach ESL. The most common language is Spanish. Looking for people who are available to come in either Monday or Tuesday for 1-2 hours sometime between 9am-4pm. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Lead Group Exercise Clases at The Salvation Army Weingart Center in Hollywood

The Salvation Army Weingart Center in Hollywood, CA is looking for volunteers to lead group exercise classes (yoga, zumba, aerobics, etc). The Salvation Army Weingart Youth Center has become a safe haven for boys and girls, many of whom come from single-parent households, and live in low-income areas which make them vulnerable to juvenile crime. The Center provides for their physical and educational needs through a number of enrichment activities, including after school youth programs, computer instruction, sports, arts & crafts and homework assistance. Adults and seniors are also served on a limited basis with low-impact aerobics and work-related computer instruction.

Kidsave is looking for awesome on-site volunteers to help with a variety of day-of tasks. This will be for their 20th Anniversary Miracles Gala at Avalon Hollywood + Bardot. They will be having a dinner, live and silent auction, and dancing. Volunteer opportunities available are: -Event Set-Up (arrival 2:00PM) -- help with setting up the tables, floral decorations, and auction item displays. Support Cyclists at Bike Multiple Sclerosis Los Angeles

Bike Multiple Sclerosis Los Angeles Volunteers needed! Over 200 volunteers are needed for the 2018 Bike MS Los Angeles event to support cyclists riding on Sunday, June 3 as they raise funds to find a cure for multiple sclerosis and provide services for those living with MS. The event will start and end at the Rose Bowl and participants will travel through the San Gabriel Mountains and other iconic Los Angeles landmarks. Assist the L.A. First Church of the Nazarene’s Food Pantry with Bread Pick Up

The Helping Hands Food Pantry is in need for one or two volunteers to pick up bread from a nearby Vons. Volunteers would go to the church to pick up boxes for the bread and keys to open up the pantry. Using their own cars, volunteers would then drive to a local Vons (loading dock) and would receive the bread, load it onto their cars. When they arrive at the church, they can use carts to wheel in the bread to put inside the pantry's freezer for safe keeping. Volunteers would then lock up, put the pantry keys away and then continue about their day. The bread that volunteers will pick up will help to feed families in Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre throughout that week. Requirements & Commitment: Driver's License Needed. Must be at least 18. Orientation or Training 1hr and 30min. Drivers must also have proof of insurance and will fill out a volunteer application and waivers.

Bring your family and GET YOUR COLOR ON for a 5k through Pelona Vista Park that's a little on-road and a little off-road...nothing you can't handle. Help Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in Assembling Food Packages for over 26,000 Folks

Take a BITE out of Hunger! Volunteers are needed at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to help in assembling food packages for over 26,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items. Literacy empowers and you have a chance to do your part! On Saturday, June 9th CCRC will be on hand to receive your book donations from 10 am – 1 pm at their Headquarters location! If you’re looking to clear up space and give the gift of reading, they will happily accept new, or gently used, children’s books (up to age 13). All books received will be distributed back to the children in CCRC's San Fernando Valley community’s children. Join A Place Called Home for their Health and Garden Expo

This convention will provide access to basic preventive services and screenings; an opportunity to enroll in low-cost or free health care coverage; and it will also encourage participants to make positive changes to their lifestyle and behavior in order to improve their health. The resource portion of this fair is targeted to increase awareness of the opportunities, services and programs offers to the community.
