Volunteer with Hollywood Food Coalition Meal Engagement Program

Come volunteer with Hollywood Food Coalition! HFC's Meal Engagement Program has been around for 33 years. They serve a delicious and nutritious multi-course "to-go" meal to food insecure people every night of the year (all comers!). They have two volunteer shifts available each day. Meal prep (sous chef, salad prep, dessert plating, you name it) and Meal Service. They are compliant with all Covid-l9 safety protocols and restrictions. The dinner service begins at 6:30pm, Mon-Fri, at their kitchen on the Salvation Army Campus, at 5939 Hollywood Blvd. (They are a secular organization: no religious test required for entry). On Sat & Sun, they are at their "away" site, on the corner of Romaine St. and N. Orange Drive (90038). Every day they have a lot of fun and would love to have you join. Make Your Way Through a Virtual Mystery with HANDS4HOPE

Make your way through a virtual mystery and play the Stolen Stars Escape Room. The Hands4Hope Youth Board have worked really hard to provide you a fun experience during quarantine that also serves as their fundraiser benefiting the Upper Room Dinning Hall in Placerville. The Upper Room Dining Hall provides meals to the hungry members of their community 365 days a year regardless of race, religion, age, gender, national origin, or income, treating guests with dignity and compassion. Their goal is to raise $3,500 and each sign up to recieve access to the virual mystery get's them $5 closer. All you have to do is open the Google form to get going on your journey. Fund School Supplies for Crete Academy

Crete Academy is a school that serves underserved children and they are requesting donations for school supplies for the upcoming school year. 100% of the donations will be used to purchase: paper, pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, notebooks, technology and curriculum. In anticipation of delayed summer funding from the state and a reduction in state funding, because of COVID-19, they are requesting donations to cushion their budget and ensure they can provide the supplies and resources needed.

Support Alexandria House’s Top Chef Program

The Top Chef Dinner Program is Alexandria House's cooking program that serves current residents and other members of the Alexandria House community. It is a wonderful treat for women living in residence when volunteers drop off or deliver food! Just like you, they have a busy life with work, school and kids and can use a Ònight off Ò too! You can prepare a meal in your home kitchen and have a no contact drop it off before dinner time or order from local restaurants and have it sent directly to Alexandria House! They ask that food is dropped off to feed two groups of about 15 each. They begin dinner at 6:00pm, Monday - Sunday. Please plan to drop off or have food sent by 5:30pm. Donate Funds to Purchase PPE for Los Angeles Academy of Arts and Enterprise

Consider making a donation to the Los Angeles Academy of Arts and Enterprise so they are able to secure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). LAAAE is a public charter school which largely serves the west downtown Los Angeles community.Since the closure of their school, their food services team has been serving meals to their students in the MacArthur Park community. As of today, they have served over 29,000 meals to students. As you can imagine serving this many meals on an ongoing basis requires the constant use of PPE. Your generous donation will allow them to purchase PPE to keep their students and staff safe. This will also enable to keep their students safe one schools start to open up since they will still be serving breakfast. It is not certain how or when theri schools will reopen but there are two things that are certain, they will need to keep everyone safe and your donation will go a long way in making this happen. Aviva Family and Children's Services provides compassionate support, therapeutic services, and guidance to at-risk children and families and they are hosting their first Drive-thru End of Summer Giveaway! It will take place on August 15, 2020 for all Aviva clients. Attendees will receive clothing, shoes, hygiene products, toys, books, school supplies, and MORE! Your contribution will ensure that every child receives school supplies in preparation for the upcoming school year. Help Financially Support Graduating High School Seniors with the Assistance League’s Bright Future Scholarship Program

The League awards financial support for graduating high school seniors from Los Angeles Unified School DistrictÕs Homeless Education Program and Foster Youth Achievement Program who are entering their freshman year of college. The Bright Future Scholarship award is based on academic achievement, character, and commitment to the community. Scholarship awardees receive the same funding for Freshman through Senior years by maintaining no less than a 2.5 GPA. Thirty-Eight students have been awarded scholarships between 2017 Ð 2020. COVID 19 has changed all our lives, especially for students, teachers, and their families since schools closed last month. For almost 50 years, the Pasadena Educational Foundation has responded to the needs of the PUSD community. This health crisis is presenting new challenges they have never before faced. In an effort to respond quickly to these unanticipated and urgent needs, the Pasadena Educational Foundation has established a Response Fund. Your contribution will help fund the following priorities that they have established, in coordination and partnership with PUSD leadership: Meals for PUSD Students and families, Technology needs for students, 3D printing. Donate Essential Items for St. Francis Center Summer Camps

St. Francis Center Youth Summer Camp is held every summer (June to August) for about 200+ youth 6-17 yrs old. Due to the ongoing pandemic, they are working with their traditional summer camp partners to engage their youth for a Òcamp at homeÓ experience throughout summer. Their overnight camp partner will provide a virtual camping experience through their online platform and by sending children home with a camp kit box with activities planned for 6 weeks. Their art and cooking camp partners will also provide an Òat homeÓ version of an art and cooking camp for the youth. They will be providing educational/activity kits to their youth that they will pick up weekly while they participate in the to-go pantry services. They need donations for their youth camp at home experiences such as books, bug spray, flashlights/batteries, sunglasses, hats, small toys, teepees, sunscreen, and lip balm. AHEAD With Horses is devoted to improving the quality of life of disabled, disadvantaged, and special needs children through equine therapy using vaulting also known as gymnastics on a horse. The "Parent PantryÓ is made available to parents on the Hematology/Oncology Unit at Loma Linda University ChildrenÕs Hospital. Be an Online Tutor for Underprivileged Children at the Joseph Learning Lab

Volunteers are needed to tutor underprivileged children online with core courses, such as reading and math. Online tutoring consists of 45 minute sessions each, based on your availability during the week. Joseph Learning Lab is an educational outreach nonprofit organization. Their mission is to close the learning gap, reduce the dropout rate, and develop students of all ages and diverse backgrounds by allowing them an equal opportunity for learning and personal growth. Volunteers are needed to help students in elementary school with homework and core courses so they can grasp learning concepts to improve their confidence, grades and test scores.Tutors are expected to instruct children in 3rd - 5th grade with the use of zoom virtual tutoring sessions.
