Fight Hunger and Help Food Forward in Partnership with CSUN Orange Grove Harvest

CSUN Orange Grove Harvest in Northridge harvest food, fight hunger, build community! You will be collecting beautiful fresh fruit that would otherwise get thrown away, and donating 100% to local hunger-relief agencies. Help Sort GOODies with the Good+ Foundation

Looking for a first-hand glimpse into the work GOOD+ does every day? Bring your organization, friends or family to participate in a volunteer project at their offices/warehouse headquartered just outside of Culver City. They can accommodate up to 20 volunteers in their space. "Off-Site" Projects GOOD+ Foundation’s volunteer team can organize and staff off-site volunteer projects at offices and places of worship. A courier service is used to pick up and drop off bins and supplies. Please note, they do ask the host of the off-site to cover the courier fees as they cannot absorb these costs. Devoting 90 minutes of your time has a positive and heartwarming impact on the homeless that you serve. Food on Foot are kid friendly too! They encourage you to bring your children and inspire them to give back to their community. (All children must be accompanied by an adult). Volunteering requires a $25 per person donation, including children. Your gift will go towards funding for the food and gift cards you will help distribute on Sunday afternoon. Enjoy your summer with Big Sunday during our 3rd Annual Get-Ready-For-Summer Movie Night!

Share in a community experience of a BBQ, ice cream and Monster's Inc. We invite community members, schools, senior centers, Veterans, domestic violence survivors and others to a relaxing night of community building. As with all Big Sunday events, admission is free, but we are collecting beach towels and sun screen for the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood and Antelope Valley. The aim of this event is to build community; in doing so we request everyone meet one new person during the event. We are collecting brand new beach towels and sun screen.

Join Los Angeles Education Partnership and Volunteer at their Camp for Foster Youth!

The youth along with the volunteer will have a lot of fun through group activities and social/emotional games. There will be a brief meeting for volunteers on Sunday, June 24 andt the camp is June 25th-29th. Any day that you could lend a hand would be helpful! Volunteers must be 16+ years of age and pass a background check. Please be friendly and enjoy children! :) They are looking for donations for lunch: really anything helps! *Pizza, sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, granola bars, water, etc. Donations of games: board games and sports equipment (used is fine!) *Feelings in a Jar, Twister, Connect 4, Mancala, Uno, any other board games! *Soccer and basketballs, frisbees, hula hoops, jump ropes. Donations of books and school supplies (used books is fine!): *Emerging chapter books, ideally with diverse characters! *Pencils, erasers, glue sticks, notebooks, craft supplies (water color paints, stickers, construction paper) Thank you!

Help Donate Much Needed Essentials for The Academy Projects Summer Camp

Camp Xavier is a week long day camp for 40 3rd-8th grade foster youth on the campus of USC from 9am-5am. 20 of the older youth will then attend a week up in the San Bernardino Mountains enjoying the quinessential summer camp experience- swimming, hiking, sailing, arts and crafts, campfires and much more. They need to feed 40 foster youth breakfast, lunch and a snack for 5 days (and would love to send them home with something too). They also need art supplies and general supplies (first aid kits, plates, napkins, water, paper, pens) They would love to have t-shirts made or rubber wrist bands- somthing to identify their kids (there are many camps of the campus of USC at the dame time. They will be taking their kids to the museam because they dont have their space on Tuesday and would love to get them IMAX tickets (40 of them). Books of all reading levels. Also, please consider sponsoring a 7 day camp experience for an older youth. It costs only $300 (all costs including bus trips, foods, activites, life changing experiences and life long friends.

With PVPLC, you will be working to remove invasive weeds which degrade important wildlife habitat and will be replacing them with native, drought tolerant plants! Meet up at the Alta Vicente trailhead next to St Paul's Lutheran Church at 31290 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Please do not park in the church parking lot. Park on the street. Extra parking can be found in Golden Cove Shopping Center. You will be working outdoors, so please wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection and be sure to bring drinking water and a snack. A reusable water bottle is recommended.

Donate Much Needed Summer Camp Essentials to Thomas A. Edison Middle School

LAUSD-Thomas A. Edison Middle School is hosting a Summer camp for at-risk youth. They serve a largely immigrant population with a high unemployment rate, many of their students stay home for the summer. Their goal is to provide 2 summer camps, a week long each, to provide enrichment, leadership, and finish off with a field trip. Summer Camp is scheduled to take place during the month of July. So they are seeking donations like: school supplies, art supplies (lots of them), office supplies, gift cards, bus transportation sponsorship, and healthy snacks. Drop off location will be at the Thomas A. Edison Middle School in the main office (Ask for Estephania Vazquez). They are looking for volunteers who have a specialized skill in the arts or other teaching skills that they can offer the 7th grade students. Students from college are encouraged to volunteer. Every committed volunteer will be asked to facilitate a 1 hour activity. Sports volunteers are also welcomed! Office supplies they will need are color pencils, pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, art supplies for the arts and crafts activities, and snacks.

Help Pack Backpacks for Create Now’s Arts Festival

Create Now is hosting an arts festival on August 4th from 10AM-1PM. The event is geared toward community agencies that serve high-risk youth, their clients and families. They also encourage the local community to attend. The kids will have the opportunity to perform a dance, song or sketch and receive a prize for their participation. There will be free refreshments, food, entertainment and each child will receive a backpack filled with school supplies. Volunteers are needed to help pack backpacks with school supplies. They are in need of school supplies and backpacks for 250+ children.
