Project Angel Food’s kitchen is 80% volunteer-driven. Kitchen volunteers don’t need to be great cooks, simply take direction from their professionally trained chefs. You’ll join compassionate people in chopping vegetables, stirring sauces, mixing batter, baking cookies, and packaging the meals. They have shifts Sunday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.–Noon and 12:45–4 p.m. For the safety of all volunteers, staff and clients, all volunteers must have received a COVID-19 vaccination and be 14 years of age or older. Volunteers aged 14 or 15 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Volunteers aged 16 or 17 years must have a parent or guardian sign a liability waiver form.

Help Distribute Food in Lancaster with Los Angeles Regional Food Bank

Since 1973, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has worked to mobilize resources in the community to alleviate hunger. Volunteers are needed to help maintain crowd control and distribute food boxes to older adults in need in our community! The food boxes consist of shelf-stable items such as milk, beans, grains, and canned fruits and vegetables. These boxes go to an average of 28,000 older adults every month at 139 sites throughout Los Angeles County! They are proud to facilitate the largest CSFP in the country and are eternally grateful for the dedicated volunteers who make this work possible! Help Change Lives: Volunteer To Distribute Food & Clothing at Food on Foot’s Sunday Serving

As a volunteer, you’ll strengthen our community by distributing food, clothing and essential supplies to 350 unhoused and low-income neighbors. You will also meet and hear stories from the participants in Jobs & Housing program. Graduates from this program earn their way off the streets with full-time jobs, fully-furnished apartments, life-skills training, and the confidence needed to make their accomplishments long-lasting. Kids are welcome! Volunteering with Food on Foot is kid friendly and the perfect way to give back as a family. Children ages 6 and up are welcome. Everyone under 18 must sign up online and be accompanied by a supervising ticketed adult.
