Help Out at Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson End of Summer Party

Come join Infinity Camp 2019! This is the theme of their Summer Camp. Every summer on the last week they have a big party for all of their members. This year, they plan to host the party on Wednesday, August 1st. They are in need of school supplies like pencils, markers, paper, backpacks, etc. Their members will be getting ready to return to school and getting these at the BGCC would be a huge resource to their families. For this event, they will rent jumpers, have various activities throughout the day and on their way out they get to take any available giveaways.

Sort Food with AIDS Project L.A.

Prepare nutritious grocery bags for those living with HIV/AIDS. APLA Health and Wellnes is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by HIV disease, reducing the incidence of HIV infection, and advocating for fair and effective HIV-related public policy. Volunteers help prepare grocery and nutrition bags for distribution through the Necessities of Life Program, which provides food and other basic necessities to low-income people living with HIV/AIDS. APLA policy prohibits the following: tank tops, sleeveless shirts, sandals, or open-toe shoes. Age Minimum (with Adult): 16+, Minimum Age:18+

Volunteers are needed to help assemble food packages for over 27,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items. By giving just a little of your time, you can make a big difference in our community. Once you register you will receive an email confirmation with all the logistics and forms. All volunteers must wear closed toed shoes. Minimum age requirement to volunteer is 14 (sorry, no exceptions).

Provide Services to Underserved with LA Family Housing

"Learn about homelessness in L.A. and then lead your own project to help LAFH provide services to those experiencing homelessness. This is an excellent way to fulfill service hours! YAC meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month. Must be 14 years or older and able to commit to monthly meetings as well as independent projects."

Join Reading for Kids for their Reading Clubs

"Reading to Kids organizes monthly reading clubs on the second Saturday of every month at eight downtown Los Angeles elementary schools. The reading clubs run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pairs of volunteer readers read aloud to small groups of students from the elementary school (typically between 4 and 6 children per group) in a fun environment. Teachers at the elementary school provide supervision and guidance throughout the morning. Celebrate with PUENTE at their Back to School Bash

Big Sunday’s 1st Annual Bowling Bash

At Big Sunday, we love bringing people together.  To kick off the summer, we’ve decided to start an annual tradition – Big Sunday’s 1stAnnual Bowling Bash! We’re inviting lots of people of all ages, from all walks of life, for 2 hours of bowling, pizza, and fun. Guests will include friends of all different ages and various challenges. Many don’t get to go bowling often, if ever. (Although we hear one senior bowling has a way of getting lots of strikes!) We need other folks to come bowl with them, hang out with them, and show them a good time. All ages welcome. Groups (up to 5 people) welcome, too!  Sign up below to join us at Corbin Bowl in Tarzana on June 19th from 11am – 1pm.  We’ll see you there!
