Take a Group Horseback Riding with Big Sunday
We need two volunteers to help oversee our Summer Field Trips where to take folks horseback riding. We take talk folks from all over town, including vets, kids with special needs and others. Volunteer duties include helping with check-in, passing out waters, snacks and t-shirts, and being friendly. No gurantee on getting to ride- depends on the numbers. The Lucky Duck Food and Water Initiative has distributed over 1 million meals to San Diego’s unsheltered neighbors since May 2020. Volunteers help by sorting boxes of food and water for homeless outreach teams to distribute to more than 1,000 individuals living on the streets. Volunteers also sort and distribute items like face shields, masks, hygiene kits, EMPWR Coats, and clothing. On rare instances, volunteers will be asked to pack the meals in an assembly line. Help Assemble Food Packages for Families at the LA Food Bank
You will volunteer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank assembling food packages for over 27 000 low-income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items. By giving just a little of your time, you can make a big difference in the community. Join the Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve

Help LAFH organize pallets of donations to prepare to distribute to different sites. This activity includes moving boxes and loading pallets, for which staff will be present to assist. Spend some time at Pacoima Place to help maintain and care for their communal garden of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. This small garden requires guidance with someone with knowledge about gardening monthly. Weekly maintenance is done by onsite participants, though no direct interaction is expected during your visit.
