Help Host “The Longest Day” at The Veterans Home in California

The Veterans Home of California will be hosting their Alzheimer's Association "The Longest Day." This is a world wide event all about love for those affected by Alzheimer's disease. They honor those living with the disease and their caregivers. Volunteers are asked to wear purple and closed shoes. Parking passes are available. Join Big Sunday Help Lutheran Social Services of Southern California with a Makeover Event

General makeover of the interior of the facility. Painting, installing mirrors in the clothing selection area, sorting clothing, repair and revamp bathroom, hanging cork boards, etc. SHIFTS: 1st shift - 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 2nd shift – 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM *A light lunch will be served at 12 PM on both days. LSS-SC is a 501(c)3 non-profit that serves the needs of local veterans and other underserved SoCal residents, regardless of race, creed or orientation since 1946.

DRESS CODE : All volunteers must wear appropriate attire suitable for an industrial production kitchen. Due to health regulations, volunteers who do not follow dress code will not be allowed to work in the kitchen.Please leave all big purses, bags, personal belongings at home Non-slip shoes with high-grip soles are strongly recommended. CSUN Orange Grove Harvest in Northridge harvest food, fight hunger, build community! You will be collecting beautiful fresh fruit that would otherwise get thrown away, and donating 100% to local hunger-relief agencies. Help Sort GOODies with the Good+ Foundation

Looking for a first-hand glimpse into the work GOOD+ does every day? Bring your organization, friends or family to participate in a volunteer project at their offices/warehouse headquartered just outside of Culver City. They can accommodate up to 20 volunteers in their space. "Off-Site" Projects GOOD+ Foundation’s volunteer team can organize and staff off-site volunteer projects at offices and places of worship. A courier service is used to pick up and drop off bins and supplies. Please note, they do ask the host of the off-site to cover the courier fees as they cannot absorb these costs. This fundraising event is planning to have 200 VIP guests for an outdoor summer evening networking event. They will have elected leaders and celebrities in attendance. Spruce Up Piece By Piece This Summer

Piece by Piece is organizing their space and are in need of helping hands! They need help sorting donations of glass and tile, and sprucing up the garden space and the mosaic mural. Their mission is to provide low-income and formerly homeless people free mosaic art workshops using recycled materials to develop marketable skills, self-confidence, earned income and an improved quality of life. Please come dressed for a mess and wear close-toed shoes. Volunteers will be moving items, sweeping, sorting. There will also be opportunities to do some work in the garden space. Entrance off of 51st Street. Activity meet up is in community space/patio. Street parking available 10am and after (street sweeping on Fridays until 10am).

Join Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservation For Their Outdoor Volunteer Day

With PVPLC, you will be working to remove invasive weeds which degrade important wildlife habitat and will be replacing them with native, drought tolerant plants! Meet up at the Alta Vicente trailhead next to St Paul's Lutheran Church at 31290 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Please do not park in the church parking lot. Park on the street. Extra parking can be found in Golden Cove Shopping Center. You will be working outdoors, so please wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection and be sure to bring drinking water and a snack. A reusable water bottle is recommended.
