Help Assemble Food Packages for Seniors with LA Food Bank

Volunteers are needed in the City of Commerce to assemble food packages for over 27,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items. By giving just a little of your time, we can make a big difference in our community. Important Details: Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to check-in. All volunteers must wear closed toed shoes. Minimum age requirement to volunteer is 18 (sorry, no exceptions). Minors must have the release signed by a parent or legal guardian. No walk-ins allowed; each person must register online. Help Pack Delicious Meals for the Disabled and Homebound Clients of Khalsa Care Foundation

Help pack delicious meals for the disabled and homebound, in partnership with the L.A. City Department of Disability and Khalsa Care Foundation. Before the pandemic, they served 1,000 meals per day. Now, demand has tripled! They greatly need your help. Los Angeles Mayor's Office, Department of Disability and Khalsa Care Foundation have partnered up to provide 3,000 meals daily to individuals with disabilities. There is a urgent need to support those that are most vulnerable during these times. Important Details: While volunteering at the temple, all volunteers must: cover their heads with a scarf or hat and remove their shoes in the kitchen. Volunteers aged 16-17 must bring a completed Minor Waiver Form (found on LA Works website) signed by a legal guardian. Minor volunteers who do not have completed forms will be unable to participate. Donate Essential Items for Boys & Girls Club Summer Camps

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson will host a summer camp for youth and families in need from ages (6yrs-13yrs) that will run from July 6th- August 14th 9am-5pm. The BGCC is planning on hosting 30 members for our summer camp which will provided programs in three core areas, academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. At this time the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson is looking for water and snack donations. Their members only have access to one water fountain and due to COVID-19 they are planning on providing water bottles for their members daily in order to keep all members safe. Additionally, their members will remain in program from 9am-5pm with only breakfast and lunch available. Since they will serve families in need they are looking to provide healthy snacks to their members. BGCC is looking for any type of granola bars, fruits, raisins, trail mix, fruit juice, cereal, pretzels, or dry popcorn. Please enter through the back entrance on 215th street. Mask, temperature check, and health questionnaire will be required before entering the facility. Please email mperes@bgccarson.org for donation drop off info.
