Help Distribute Food and Clothing to the Homeless with Food on Foot

You can help distribute food and clothing to the homeless and poor with Food on Foot on any Sunday, from 3:15pm to 5:00pm, at Food on Foot's Hollywood location (1625 N. Schrader Blvd.) Devoting 90 minutes of your time has a positive and heartwarming impact on the homeless that you serve. Food on Foot are kid friendly too! They encourage you to bring your children and inspire them to give back to their community. (All children must be accompanied by an adult). Volunteering requires a $25 per person donation, including children. Your gift will go towards funding for the food and gift cards you will help distribute on Sunday afternoon. Donate Much Needed Men’s Clothing to Safe Place for Youth

69% of the youth that visit Safe Place for Youth are male, so their biggest ask is always men's clothing! They are currently asking for specific donations of men's boxer-briefs in all sizes. They have been running very low these past couple weeks and would really appreciate the support of the community in bringing more in! Safe Place for Youth is a non-profit that serves youth experiencing homelessness in West Los Angeles. Help Faciliate and Prep Activities for the Kids at Alexandria House’s Summer Camp

The Alexandria House Summer Camp is held every summer (June to August) at Alexandria House for 30 school-aged kids (K-5th grade). The kids go on field trips and participate in arts, sports, and water activities. Volunteers are needed to help facilitate and prep activities and are also welcome to lead their own programs. If you have ideas for camp, please send them to their camp coordinator at stephanie@alexandriahouse.org. All new Alexandria House volunteers are asked to go through an orientation before volunteering. Volunteers age: at least of high school age. There’s no time commitment, you can volunteer for one day or for the whole summer. The volunteer shifts are 9am-noon and 1-4pm. Please consider donating so they can fund their many programs, including summer camp.

General makeover of the interior of the facility. Painting, installing mirrors in the clothing selection area, sorting clothing, repair and revamp bathroom, hanging cork boards, etc. SHIFTS: 1st shift - 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 2nd shift – 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM *A light lunch will be served at 12 PM on both days. Help Sort GOODies with the Good+ Foundation

Looking for a first-hand glimpse into the work GOOD+ does every day? Bring your organization, friends or family to participate in a volunteer project at their offices/warehouse headquartered just outside of Culver City. They can accommodate up to 20 volunteers in their space. "Off-Site" Projects GOOD+ Foundation’s volunteer team can organize and staff off-site volunteer projects at offices and places of worship. A courier service is used to pick up and drop off bins and supplies. Please note, they do ask the host of the off-site to cover the courier fees as they cannot absorb these costs. Join L.A. Kitchen Transform Reclaimed Fruits and Vegetables into Healthy Meals

L.A. kitchen invites young children and their families to give back and have fun! Kids and adults can volunteer to transform reclaimed fruits and vegetables into healthy meals that are distributed to homeless shelters, after-school programs and senior sites. All kitchen activities are kid and adult proof. Each volunteer or family is asked to make a small donation, that allows the organization to offer activities like Tater Tats (fruit & veggie-themed temporary tattoos), arts and crafts using “ugly” veggies, and more! Adults are required to participate and must stay with their child(ren) through out the morning. Due to the nature of the activity, they are only able to host children ages 7 and up. Piece by Piece is organizing their space and are in need of helping hands! They need help sorting donations of glass and tile, and sprucing up the garden space and the mosaic mural. Their mission is to provide low-income and formerly homeless people free mosaic art workshops using recycled materials to develop marketable skills, self-confidence, earned income and an improved quality of life. Please come dressed for a mess and wear close-toed shoes. Volunteers will be moving items, sweeping, sorting. There will also be opportunities to do some work in the garden space. Entrance off of 51st Street. Activity meet up is in community space/patio. Street parking available 10am and after (street sweeping on Fridays until 10am).
