Lend a Hand Running Activities at Olive Crest’s Family Health Awareness Fair

Family Health Awareness Fair: Saturday June 9th, 2018 from 12pm-3pm. Open to everyone. Members of community will come to allow children to participate in different activities while also getting resources from different Mental Health, Fitness and Nutritional agencies. Free food will be served and raffle prizes will be happening. The event takes place at Olive Crest 17800 Woodruff Ave Bellflower, CA 90706. Volunteers are needed to help run activities. These activities are kid friendly. This includes football, soccer, archery, boxing, coloring, basketball and baseball. They also need help running the raffle area, serving food and registration. All volunteers show up at 10am to help set up.

You can help distribute food and clothing to the homeless and poor with Food on Foot on any Sunday, from 3:15pm to 5:00pm, at Food on Foot's Hollywood location (1625 N. Schrader Blvd.) Devoting 90 minutes of your time has a positive and heartwarming impact on the homeless that you serve. Food on Foot are kid friendly too! They encourage you to bring your children and inspire them to give back to their community. (All children must be accompanied by an adult). Volunteering requires a $25 per person donation, including children. Your gift will go towards funding for the food and gift cards you will help distribute on Sunday afternoon. Join Western Center’s Spring Fundraiser- Fair Shake

This year’s festivities will be held at the El Dorado Bar and hosted by Western Center’s 30-member Advisory Board. Guests include colleagues, friends, legal services partners and summer associates who celebrate, eat, drink and enjoy casino, bar or party games. Western Center will also host a short program honoring Sang Banh at Inland Counties Legal Services and Julia Fieber at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy. DRESS CODE : All volunteers must wear appropriate attire suitable for an industrial production kitchen. Due to health regulations, volunteers who do not follow dress code will not be allowed to work in the kitchen.Please leave all big purses, bags, personal belongings at home Non-slip shoes with high-grip soles are strongly recommended. Help Donate Your Time and/or Money to Assist at Beagles and Buddies Fundraising Event

Beagles and Buddies will be announcing their 2 newest classes to Dog Training, Service Dog training (Complimentary to All Veterans, Law enforcement, Firefighters, EMT/First Responders) and their Basic Dog Training. It is also a grand opening of their DOGS HELP HEAL CENTER, a 2- acre site for Training with a meditation garden, and a dedication to their late 25+ year volunteer, Lauren Fox. They are fundraising to continually support their non profit no-kill dog rescue and support their mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome a large population of homeless dogs. If they should receive a group of volunteers to assist with the event (monitoring traffic, taking donations, manning booths...etc..) they ask that the volunteers be there at least one hour prior to the event time to prepare. Please wear a navy blue shirt, long pants, closed toe shoes, and sunscreen. They would love donations of water, support of volunteers, help with advertising, and raffle gift items. You will be collecting beautiful fresh fruit that would otherwise get thrown away, and donating 100% to local hunger-relief agencies. Enjoy your summer with Big Sunday during our 3rd Annual Get-Ready-For-Summer Movie Night!

Share in a community experience of a BBQ, ice cream and Monster's Inc. We invite community members, schools, senior centers, Veterans, domestic violence survivors and others to a relaxing night of community building. As with all Big Sunday events, admission is free, but we are collecting beach towels and sun screen for the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood and Antelope Valley. The aim of this event is to build community; in doing so we request everyone meet one new person during the event. We are collecting brand new beach towels and sun screen.

Join L.A. Kitchen Transform Reclaimed Fruits and Vegetables into Healthy Meals

L.A. kitchen invites young children and their families to give back and have fun! Kids and adults can volunteer to transform reclaimed fruits and vegetables into healthy meals that are distributed to homeless shelters, after-school programs and senior sites. All kitchen activities are kid and adult proof. Each volunteer or family is asked to make a small donation, that allows the organization to offer activities like Tater Tats (fruit & veggie-themed temporary tattoos), arts and crafts using “ugly” veggies, and more! Adults are required to participate and must stay with their child(ren) through out the morning. Due to the nature of the activity, they are only able to host children ages 7 and up. Help Pack Backpacks for Create Now’s Arts Festival

Create Now is hosting an arts festival on August 4th from 10AM-1PM. The event is geared toward community agencies that serve high-risk youth, their clients and families. They also encourage the local community to attend. The kids will have the opportunity to perform a dance, song or sketch and receive a prize for their participation. There will be free refreshments, food, entertainment and each child will receive a backpack filled with school supplies. Volunteers are needed to help pack backpacks with school supplies. They are in need of school supplies and backpacks for 250+ children.
