Create Now is a nonprofit that empowers youth through arts education and mentoring. They serve disadvantaged, vulnerable kids ages 2-21 who have been abused, neglected, abandoned, orphaned, are left homeless, runaways, teen parents, substance abusers, victims of domestic violence, children of prisoners, gang members or incarcerated. Create Now needs to update their home page, it's a simple procedure that will probably take less then an hour, but they really need your help! Their webmaster is busy and unable to help with this update or any other small revisions. Previous experience with WordPress is needed. Be an Online Tutor for Underprivileged Children at the Joseph Learning Lab

Volunteers are needed to tutor underprivileged children online with core courses, such as reading and math. Online tutoring consists of 45 minute sessions each, based on your availability during the week. Joseph Learning Lab is an educational outreach nonprofit organization. Their mission is to close the learning gap, reduce the dropout rate, and develop students of all ages and diverse backgrounds by allowing them an equal opportunity for learning and personal growth. Volunteers are needed to help students in elementary school with homework and core courses so they can grasp learning concepts to improve their confidence, grades and test scores.Tutors are expected to instruct children in 3rd - 5th grade with the use of zoom virtual tutoring sessions. The online tutoring sessions will be based on your availability. There is an application process/fingerprinting before tutoring can start with JLL Nonprofit. AmeriCorps Los Angeles members serve with local partners to expand access to education. Their primary approach is to offer small-group and 1-on-1 instruction. This project is part of RSVP at L.A. Works' Adult Education and Employment initiative. Topics include networking, interview skills, resume, cover letter writing, financial literacy and more. Your choice to volunteer with AmeriCorps Los Angeles is to support young adults in the community who want to make better lives for themselves and be productive citizens in their community. Attend KEEN LA’s Virtual ZOOMba with Special Needs Youth

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, KEEN LA has shifted their service delivery model to online virtual sessions via ZOOM. During this time, their community of athletes have no access to their support networks. Parent's are forced to do more with less. Your participation will provide some parents with some much needed respite, even for 10 minutes and you will help us foster a sense of continued community support. Details: You must attend a one hour Orientation before the session with athletes where you will be trained and guided on how to support your assigned athlete. A background check and signature of waivers is required . Sessions will be recorded and sections may be shared on social media. Camp LaurelÕs Summer Camp is a seven-day camp program for children and youth ages 6-17 affected by HIV/AIDS. Summer Camp focuses on building the bonds that help to create a solid foundation on which the children can grow. The programming, while catering to the fragile physical and mental health of the children and youth, works to increase each participantÕs self-esteem while empowering them to develop the important life skills needed to build independent, successful and healthy lives. Join a FREE Virtual Visual Arts & Movement Classes for 55+ with P.S. ARTS

Every Tuesday (except June 30th) P.S. ARTS will provide a free visual arts or movement class to adults who are 55+. Each week, they will provide a list of the materials needed to participate as well as options for substitutions. This is a great way to stay connected to your friends and family, as well as meet new people, so please feel free to share the event link, as they welcome as many people as possible! June 23 - Movement w/ Charlotte (you can do from your chair). Here is what participants should have for class on Tuesday 6/23: Chair or comfortable seat, Comfortable clothes you can move in, A clear space to move safely.
